Pintxo keeps plenty of his Schnauzer identity, but gets a very different finish. His body follows a simplified Schnauzer pattern, while the traditional beard and brows make way for a short, youthful Asian Fusion face.
He’s also a young, energetic pet who goes to daycare and can get knotty, so the styling is adapted accordingly. The legs stay shorter, the underline is kept tight and the finished groom is designed to be manageable as well as cute.
Part 1 | Setting the Schnauzer body pattern
The body is clipped with a #5F blade, following familiar Schnauzer landmarks through the back, rear and shoulders. Michelle leaves a small, tight underline rather than carrying excessive coat underneath, keeping the shape neat and manageable for an active pet.
Watch the direction of the clipper work around the rear. Changing the angle of the blade can create an indentation that then needs to be blended out, so the shape is being established as the coat comes off.
Part 2 | Setting up the Asian Fusion face
The head starts from some familiar Schnauzer principles, but the destination is completely different. A #7F takes the skull and cheeks short, while the corner of the eye becomes an important landmark for deciding what stays and what goes.
Michelle keeps the neck and cheeks clean, exposes the stop and begins separating the brows. Because Pintxo is still young, she swaps clippers for fine thinners in some sensitive areas rather than insisting on a tool he isn’t yet comfortable with.
Part 3 | Clipping the ears
Pintxo’s ears are clipped with a #10, working towards the outside edge and using the fingers to stretch and support the ear. Michelle also demonstrates reversing carefully around the edge for a particularly clean finish, while pointing out that this takes practice and scissors are the better option if the dog is moving.
When Pintxo starts moving, she stops, gives him a moment and returns to the area once he’s settled.
Part 4 | Short face, tiny brows & pet-friendly legs
This is where the Asian Fusion picture really appears. The chin comes up short, the mouth is cleared and the muzzle curves upwards into a little smile. Pintxo’s brows become small triangles rather than the longer traditional Schnauzer brows, with the coat kept tight beneath the eyes to open up his expression.
The legs borrow from Asian Fusion styling too, but Michelle deliberately avoids an exaggerated flare. Pintxo gets smaller, manageable cylinders instead, with neat feet and a tight underline suited to a young pet who gets out, gets knotty and enjoys himself.
