Maltese X
MIA
Mia is a cute Maltese cross. Mia has what we call 'Queen Anne' legs. This is common in Maltese and Shih Tzu cross breeds. Care must be taken when working around these legs to avoid discomfort to the dog. Chuckie demonstrates a gentle pet trim, with all her little tips and tricks for maintaining the comfort of the dog, and hiding the not so perfect areas of Mia (if we can be so bold!)
Part 1 Mia is having a 19 mm trim on her body. Chuckie skims off her front legs. Pressure from the clippers can harm deformed legs.
Part 2 Chuckie sets in some rear angulation and trims the rear legs. These legs are very bandy.
Part 3 Mia has very bandy front legs, Chuckie uses scissors to negate this ‘fault’. By styling the legs and leaving more hair at a bend, you can create the illusion of a straight leg.
Part 4 The head study. Mia has a 19mm on her head, as well as the body. Chuckie uses a combination of curved scissors, chunkers and thinners to set the head in.
