SUE WRIGHT

DOLLY

Meet Dolly, a six-month-old Moodle who’s still learning what this whole grooming business is about. Sue Wright takes us through a cute, low-maintenance puppy trim, adapting the style to Dolly’s age, her coat and a little bit of enthusiastic home grooming between appointments.

Along the way, Sue shares plenty of tips for working with a young dog, from choosing clipper lengths and keeping that soft puppy look to making the groom comfortable and manageable as Dolly settles into the process.

Part 1 | Body, Legs & Tail

Sue sets Dolly’s body length with attachment combs before blending into slightly longer legs for a balanced, easy-care finish. She works through clipping, scissoring the feet and legs, shaping the tail and dealing with the shorter areas Dolly’s owner has trimmed at home, while keeping the amount of scissor work to a minimum.

Part 2 | Head & Face

It’s time for Dolly’s very cute puppy face. Sue works through the stop and eye area, preserves those gorgeous eyelashes, shapes the top of the head and creates soft curves around the face and ears. She also shows how she blends some previous home trimming while keeping the overall finish soft, balanced and unmistakably puppy. Dolly has a nap.
