igroomhub and igroomschool: what's the difference?

If you've spent any time in our corner of the internet, you've probably noticed two names floating around - igroomhub and igroomschool - and wondered whether they're the same thing, different things, or one thing pretending to be two things.

Fair question! Here's the simple answer.

igroomhub is a library

igroomhub is a membership. Think of it as a big, well-organised reference library that you can dip into as much or as little as you like, whenever you like, on whatever device you happen to have in your hand. Tutorials, masterclasses, breed guides, business resources, industry discussion - it's all there, and it's all yours to explore at your own pace.

There are no exams. No deadlines. No structured pathway you have to follow. You might come in looking for a refresher on hand stripping an Irish Terrier at 9pm on a Tuesday, watch what you need, and leave. Or you might spend a Sunday afternoon going deep on double coat management. igroomhub doesn't mind either way.

It's the casual side of the ecosystem. Casual doesn't mean low quality - the content is built by experienced industry educators and contributors who are actively working in the trade. It just means you're in charge of how you use it.

igroomschool is structured

igroomschool is where the same content gets context, assessment and measurement behind it.

If igroomhub is the library, igroomschool is the course. Content is organised into structured units, with video lessons, written material, exams and assessments that track your progress and give you something to show for it at the end. You're not just watching - you're being tested, measured and certified.

igroomschool is home to the Industry Certification Pathway - the five-Block program that takes a new groomer from complete beginner through to pet stylist and beyond. But it's not only the IC Pathway. There are standalone theory blocks, specialist courses, and individual tutorials you can access with a built-in exam if you want the credential without the full course commitment.

The short version: anything measured lives in igroomschool. Anything casual lives in igroomhub.

So why are they separate?

Because they serve different needs, and bundling them together would make both worse.

Not every groomer needs a structured course at any given moment. Sometimes you need a certification pathway with proper scaffolding and assessment behind it. Sometimes you just need a great library of content to reference, explore and learn from. Sometimes you need both, at the same time, for completely different reasons.

igroomhub and igroomschool are designed to sit alongside each other - not compete. Plenty of groomers use both, moving between the library and the courses depending on what they're working on.

A lot of the content overlaps - is that a problem?

No, and here's why. The content overlaps because the ecosystem is connected. But context changes everything. A tutorial you watch casually in igroomhub becomes part of a structured learning sequence in igroomschool - with assessment before and after it to make sure the knowledge actually sticks. The content is the same. What's different is the structure around it and what you do with it.
