ABOUT TIARNE
Tiarne Perkiss is a groomer and educator with over a decade of experience in the industry. She is the owner of Perky Pooches Grooming Salon and founder of Elite Dog Grooming Academy.
Tiarne began grooming at 12 years old in her parents’ garage. Growing up with English Springer Spaniels, and later her Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Jessie, she developed a strong interest in grooming and show presentation.
She has trained and worked across multiple countries, developing her skills with breeds including Poodles, Cavaliers, and English Springer Spaniels.
Tiarne has achieved multiple Best in Show and Runner Up Best in Show awards. She is a member of Groom Team Australia, the Dogs Australia National Grooming Team, and the DGS Creative Team.
She presents at grooming seminars across Australia as part of T & Tay on Tour.
In 2021, she launched Elite Dog Grooming Academy, where she delivers training for groomers completing Cert III in Pet Grooming and supports students entering the industry.
Her qualifications include a Certificate IV in Pet Grooming, Certificate II in Animal Studies, and a current Pet Tech First Aid Certificate.
Tiarne was a finalist for Young Business Woman of the Year in 2015. Perky Pooches Grooming Salon was also named Runner Up Best New Business at the Illawarra Business in Heels awards the same year.
