English Cocker Spaniel

MAGGIE

Today Michelle is working on Maggie, a beautiful English Cocker Spaniel. Maggie is not being hand stripped like traditional Cockers, she is being clipped with a #5F. Maggie is a regular client, being groomed every 4 weeks.

PART 1 Maggie is having her body set in with a #5F.  Michelle explains how the pattern is set in, where to take hair shorter and longer to accentuate a more sporting look.

PART 2 Maggie is very excited about having her head and face trimmed in! Michelle uses a #5F on top of the head, and a #10 on the face and ears.

PART 3 Setting the rear angulation, and the front assembly.

PART 4 Michelle puts the finishing touches on Maggie's groom with a full fanned tail and tight rear.

MARGAUX

Tay and Margaux demonstrate this neat, sweet pet trim for a Cocker Spaniel

PART 1 Setting in the traditional lines using clippers with a dark blue (or 10mm) attachment comb to help give you that traditional look without stripping for your pet clients.

PART 2 Scissoring in the rear leg using chunkers to help set in the lines, and also help blend in a few holes the owner left us

PART 3 Setting in the front legs and chest as well as setting in a tight “cat foot”

PART 4 Clipping the muzzle using the Heiniger Midi and with the challenge of leaving the tip of the skull long (at the owners request), as well as avoiding those long eyelashes.

PART 5 Creating the traditional Cocker ear using a #10 blade on the Heiniger opals clippers, then finishing off with straights scissors to clean up the clipper line and round up the ends

PART 6 Tay shows how to set in the neck, and then blending it in using chunkers to help show off the neck muscles

PART 7 The tail can be a personal preference to the client, in this case Tay trims the tail to help balance the overall groom
