Greyhound

NOTES

Greyhounds are a very popular breed. They are not particulrly robust, and require a skilled hand and sharp observation skills . There are a few key points when grooming these dogs:

  1. Their legs are very delicate, so they need help getting in and out of the bath, and on off a table.

  2. They can be fearful by nature of the grooming experience.

  3. You also need to watch other dogs around them. Ex-racing dogs are bred to chase small fluffy things!

Get to know the dog and it’s capabilities, and general nature before handballing this breed to a junior bather or groomer.

PART 2 The steps to take to complete a Greyhound groom after a thorough shampoo and conditioning. The first step is drying the coat in preparation for a deshedding brush.

PART 3 Taylan cuts the nails on the Greyhound and shows the correct way to handle the legs to provide the greatest comfort for the dog.

PART 4 Taylan uses a Furminator to remove dead coat and maneuvers the skin and coat to ensure she doesn’t apply pressure over the spine.
